Field Day, held
on the last full weekend of June, gives us all the chance to
use our skill and experiences learned from Amateur Radio. Field Day
is a time to evaluate emergency preparedness. It's also time to put
your latest antenna experiment to the test as well. And of course
there is the fun of it all! Want to get a taste of HF band
operation? This is the time and place to do it.
This year, Field Day will be held June 28-29 and JTRG will
participate from the
Carlin Park Civic Center in Jupiter, FL! The address is
400 S. S.R. A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477. This is the same location
as last year and it is fantastic! If you're not familiar with it,
take a look at the
map
and then make your plans to come out!
We'll be
operating as a class 3A and in simulated emergency conditions.
We'll have transceivers set up with operators
making contacts through various modes (FM, CW, and Digital) and on
all available bands as well as a "Get on the Air (GOTA)" radio where
you can try it out yourself!
We need plenty of volunteers to assist with
operating stations, setup, cleanup, cooking, etc. ANY time you can
contribute towards the success of JTRG's Field Day is greatly
appreciated! |
