FIELD DAY - 2010

Field Day, held on the last  full weekend of June, gives us all the chance to use our skills and experiences learned in Amateur Radio.  It's a time to evaluate emergency preparedness, leverage your knowledge of antennas, radios and multi-band operations. It's time to make contacts, LOTS of them and have some fun doing it!  If you're new to HF, this is a perfect time to watch, learn, or give it a try! Field Day will be held June 26-27 and JTRG will participate from the Jupiter Civic Center located in Carlin Park Jupiter, FL. The address is Van Kessel Pkwy, Jupiter, FL 33477.  We've made the Civic Center a ritual location and for good reason - it's fantastic! If you're not familiar with it, take a look at the map and then make your plans to come out! We'll be operating as a class 3A, in simulated emergency conditions and using the special event callsign, WY5I.  We'll have transceivers set up with operators making contacts through various modes (FM, CW, and Digital) and on all available bands as well as a "Get on the Air (GOTA)" radio where you can try it out yourself!    We need plenty of volunteers to assist with operating stations, setup, cleanup, cooking, etc. ANY time you can contribute towards the success of JTRG's Field Day is greatly appreciated! Lastly, don't forget to keep your ears tuned to the local ClearChannel stations to hear our public service announcements and radio advertisements for JTRG's Field Day activities!
