JTRG first qualified Peanut Island as a USIsland (FL479S) on 06/13/09. We then completed our first island expedition on May 29th and 30th, 2010. We had five operating stations situated between the restored US Coast Guard station and the fallout bunker built for former President, J.F. Kennedy. Thank you to the many sponsors, volunteers, visitors, and radio contacts who made this event successful.

Jump forward to 2013! The volunteers are gathering and we're headed back for our Fourth Annual Activation of US Island, FL479S! This year we have participants from multiple clubs and looking forward to having a great time! We'll be headed over on 05/24/13 and going live for the 25th and the 26th. An open invitation is extended to the local ham radio community! We'll have some transportation provided and there is also a ferry available at the Riviera Beach Marina that costs $10 for a round-trip.
